Troop 262 sells Holiday Wreaths in 3 ways
Individual Scout Sales
The scouts sell wreaths individually each fall, to family and friends and/or door-to-door in the community. Orders are due in late October, and delivered in mid-November.
Each scout is expected to sell 25 items. The scout will earn a commission, and all funds are deposited into their account. This account is then used to pay for scouting trips, and/or for additional scouting-related expenses, such as equipment.
Corner Sales
Starting the weekend before Thanksgiving, and continuing on weekends until all wreaths are sold, scouts sell wreaths from the corner of the church lot. Scouts receive credits toward weekend campouts for working corner sales shifts.
Wholesale
The troop wholesales to other groups throughout the metro area. Our volume purchasing makes it cheaper to buy through us than directly from our supplier.
Scouts are required to help unload wreath materials in November, and to work shifts at the corner sales on weekends in November and December.
Scouts' work in these areas receive credit toward weekend campouts and a discount for Many Point summer camp.
Additional Fundraising Opportunities
Flag routes with the Richfield Optimist Club:
Periodically, scouts are given the opportunity to put up flags around Richfield through the Richfield Optimist Club. The Optimist Club organizes the routes and dates, and scouts put up and take down flags, earning money for each flag.
Additional Fundraising opportunities may come up, and ideas are welcomed!
